We’ve introduced a new enhancement to the SOAP Note Properties settings that allows Admins to define minimum and/or maximum character requirements for SOAP note text fields. This update provides better control over documentation standards and improves consistency in note-taking across your organization.

How It Works

When creating a new TextArea or TextBox SOAP note property (under Site Settings > SOAP Notes > SOAP Note Properties), Admins will now see two additional options:

  • Minimum Characters

  • Maximum Characters

These fields are completely optional. You may set only a minimum, only a maximum, or both.

By default, the maximum value will be set to the system/database limit. Admins can lower this value if desired.

Examples:

Minimum Not Met (Too Short)

Property Settings:

  • Minimum Characters: 50

  • Maximum Characters: 1000

Character Count: ~30
Result:  Rejected — Minimum not met.

Correct Entry (Passes Min and Max Requirements)

Property Settings:

  • Minimum Characters: 50

  • Maximum Characters: 1000

Character Count: ~160
Result: Accepted — within character limits.
